Trip Pictures with Commentary

Well I have finally figured out that I can share my photos that I posted on Facebook (with a lot of commentary) even if folks are not members of Facebook.  If you visit these links, you will see the many pictures I took and a lot of what I learned.  I put these up when we returned from the trip so they were fresh in my head along with the stories and information I learned about the subject matter in the photos.

On another note, I did not get to speak to the grade nines which I had previously posted about because I ended up going straight to work for over a month in a grade one class.  Yesterday, however, I was in a grade five class and the subject was World War II and I had the chance to tell Bill’s story.  It felt good to finally be able to share some of what I had learned on the trip.  I will say that the students were completely absorbed, more so than they had been all day.  They had so many questions – I believe we could’ve done a whole day on it.  I have promised them I will talk to their teacher (who is a friend of mine) and see if I can come back with some pictures and do a longer, more formal talk.

Once again, I apologize for taking so long to get to the blog.  When we got back from the trip, I had very little time before I was neck-deep in my internship and finishing my last two university courses at the same time.  The good news is, I am done both undergraduate degrees and am very busy supply teaching now while awaiting word on whether or not I am accepted into a graduate program in special education.

Here are the links to the Facebook albums (you should not have to be a member to view these!):
